oh hello, my jet-setting friend!
Planning a trip can feel overwhelming, especially when you're already juggling a demanding career and a hectic personal life. The hours of research, endless options, and the fear of missing out on the best experiences can turn excitement into stress. I totally get it—I’ve been there before, too.
Let's travel back in time together to when my journey had just begun . . .
"Travel agents still exist?"
— me, c. 2017

These were my exact thoughts when I met our soon-to-be travel agent at a bridal expo. And if you're reading this, maybe you're thinking it too.
My fiancé and I knew we wanted our honeymoon to be an epic adventure, so we set our sights on New Zealand. As someone who has always loved the challenge of planning vacations and finding the best deals, I wondered, “Why would I need a travel agent when I can handle it myself?” However, it didn’t take long for me to realize that putting together our complex 12-day journey was beyond my Googling skills. With wedding planning already consuming all my free time, I decided to enlist the help of a seasoned pro.
I worked with our travel agent for weeks, fine-tuning every little detail of our adventure-packed itinerary. I felt like the world’s pickiest client, but apparently, my eye for detail didn’t go unnoticed. “You’d be great at this if you ever wanted to give it a shot,” she casually mentioned.
I caught the travel bug on our honeymoon, and I knew the only cure was to keep exploring. I found myself daydreaming about my next destination while working long days at my demanding job in logistics. Eventually, I couldn’t ignore the persistent nudges from The Universe and decided it was time for a big change. I left my logistics career behind and launched Escapes by Kait in January 2019!
